Data categories:

• Donor data — name, email, payment info (processed by Stripe, not stored by Donate), giving history, communication preferences
• NGO partner data — organization name, registration documents, contact person details, campaign content, financial documentation for verification
• Website visitor data — analytics (page visits, device type, browser, referral source)
• Communications data — messages between donors and partner organizations, correspondence with Donate
• Data about people served — Donate does not directly collect personal information from people served by partner organizations. Partners are responsible for their own data practices.

What we do:

• Process donations between donors and verified partner organizations
• Communicate with donors about campaigns they’ve supported
• Verify and onboard NGO partners
• Improve functionality based on usage data
• Fulfill legal and compliance obligations

What we do NOT do:

• We do not sell donor data or data about people served to any third party, ever.
• We do not share NGO financial verification documents with other organizations.
• We do not use data about people served for marketing purposes without explicit consent.
• We do not send unsolicited marketing communications to donors or NGO contacts who haven’t opted in.

We use three types of cookies: functional (essential for site operation), analytics (usage data to improve the experience), and preference (user settings). You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings.

Stripe \u2014 payment processing. Stripe receives payment info directly from donors. We do not share your data with other third parties for marketing purposes.

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

The site is not directed at children under 13. Donate does not knowingly collect personal information from children. People served by partner organizations (who may include children) are served by those organizations, not by Donate directly.
