Children with neurodevelopmental disorders need consistent care to stay stable

Birds of Life Foundation supports children and youth with neurodevelopmental disorders by helping families access ongoing medical care, rehabilitation support, medication, and adaptive equipment.

About this story

Children with complex neurodevelopmental conditions often need care that continues month after month: specialist visits, medication, rehabilitation, supplies, and adaptive support.

Vladimir is 14 years old and lives with microcephaly, spastic tetraparesis, and symptomatic epilepsy — conditions that affect his movement, health, and daily stability. Since early childhood, his care has required close medical supervision and continuous support.

After leaving Ukraine, Vladimir and his family are rebuilding his care in Krynica-Zdrój, Poland. That means finding new specialists, restoring a rehabilitation plan, and working toward an adapted wheelchair that fits his current needs.

Birds of Life Foundation supports children and youth with neurodevelopmental disorders through a broader care program. This campaign helps families like Vladimir’s access the ongoing medical and adaptive support their children need.

What this support covers

This campaign supports a program need: helping children with neurodevelopmental disorders access consistent neurological and daily care support.

Support may help cover:

  • Neurological exams
  • Daily anticonvulsant medication
  • Medical and care supplies
  • Rehabilitation-related support
  • Adaptive mobility equipment, including wheelchair support

Goal: $600

Why support is needed now

For children with neurodevelopmental disorders, care often depends on consistency. When medication, exams, supplies, or adaptive equipment are delayed, it can affect a child’s comfort, stability, and progress.

Families rebuilding care after relocation may also need time to find specialists, restore treatment plans, and understand local support systems.

Your support helps Birds of Life Foundation continue care for children like Vladimir through its program for children and youth with neurodevelopmental disorders.
